If the Spirit
indicates our step
our feet hear
One in front
of the other
until we break
gaze from His face
and eye threatening
winds and waves
As soon as we
consider them
we
sink
Doubt and fear
rage and wage
against our focus
Through the storm
we hear Jesus
calling us to
trust his voice
and come
with abandon
Even if we
tiptoe tepidly
we walk on water ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Matthew 14: 29-3O
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
