Even the Rocks

The rocks cry out

Speech pours

forth from the sky

Even the caged bird sings

The ministry of nature

is bold

Us,

with mouths molded

attentively, uniquely

by our creator

lips, lovingly set

with borrowed breath

Us, called above

the creatures of the earth

that sing gospel harmonies

in blooms and leaves,

and trumpet salvation

through Jesus

Us,

the crown of God's creation

Designed be his mouthpiece

Will we join His sound?
