Spring

Updated: Jun 27, 2021

A surging wellspring stirs

in the core of my being

when my Father speaks.

His presence is felt

rising from the navel

up to the heart

and it floods the skin.

If this simple instinct turns

from spring to sinking

or my leaping heart to racing,

I am lied to by darkness,

encroaching to tie my hands.

"My child, you know my voice! Don't you know,

I make my children to recognize the voice of their father?

Now go, and refuse the fear

that once took you hostage

in many disguises.

Call on my name.

My sword is swift.

And to you,

I bestow it.

Follow where I lead,

and you will have

everything

you never knew

you ever wanted."

1 Corinthians 2:4

But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
