Tears, Joy and a Riversong

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

I received a beautifully tender song that I am honored to serve to the bride of Christ.

The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

What I love about the songs that the Lord gives me is that they are for him, but yet, they minister to us as well. They are for him and from him. I love the Holy Spirit! What a gift to be united with him, as one, through Jesus.

According to the words of this song for the Lord, God is also ministering to the hearts of his people. This is a song about coming to spend time with the Lord in his upper chamber. He is the replenisher of our weary souls. The healer of our hearts. The mender of our wounds. The redeemer of all that is broken. The restorer of all that has been lost. He is the gentle voice in the raging sea that calls to us to tend to it and heed him.

This song is a call to come into intimate knowing with the One who created us and loves us, the great I AM. This is a love call from our jealous creator, to come into his protection by humbling ourselves before him. In his shelter, he will nurse us with his living water like a mother with a babe. He will subdue and humble our adversaries as we subdue our attentions, affections and humble ourselves before him.

The song is in the last 10 minutes of the video.

The following theme includes a weary journey through the desert, with the support staff of God (Jesus Christ) who parts the sea in two so that we may be saved from sin, death, the enemy and brought into our inheritance, the promised land. He is our rest and shelter and our refresher, along the way.

And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary H3811 themselves to commit iniquity. (Jer. 9:5)

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary H3811 with forbearing, and I could not stay. (Jer. 20:9)

Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary H3811 with repenting. (Jer. 15:6)

But now he hath made me weary: H3811 thou hast made desolate all my company. (Job 16:7)

But there was no food in the entire region, for the famine was very severe. The land of Egypt and the land of Canaan were exhausted by the famine. (Gen 47:13)

Like a madman who throws flaming darts and deadly arrows. (Prov. 26:18)

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary H3811 men, but will ye weary H3811 my God also? (Isa 7:13)

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary H3811 with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days. (Jer. 6:11)

Exodus 3

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”

God said to Moses, “I AM who I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’

“This is my name forever,

the name you shall call me

from generation to generation.

“Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’
