Bound

We creep away from the crowd

towards the mountain. The chill

of the forest swirls on our breath

as we pick up cadence. Ghosts

fleeing into the still air. Can you

hear the sound of the rocks,

pregnant with anticipation?

Somewhere above us, a branch

groans. You tell me to press my ear

into the frost-bitten tree. A cast of

ravens scatter into the sputtering sky.

You grin at me, pausing your hand over

mine on the hard earth. And I feel it

-- the low rumble of spring.

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall." Malachi 4: 1-2

Then in that day

The nations will resort to the root of Jesse,

Who will stand as a signal for the peoples;

And His resting place will be glorious.

Isaiah 11:10

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Romans 8:22

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28

"Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made and sent forth a raven. It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth.” Genesis 8 -6-7

"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left." Matthew 24:37-40
