One Tough Flower

The provision of the Father is so practical and so sweet. I will set the wedding table with Him, all day long, until YAH'll drop the shenanigans and enter through the narrow gate and join the feast. There's so much food and wine! Come, all who are weary and heavy laden. He says, "Come, and I will give you rest." He will anoint your head with oil. And your cup will overflow.

I have really needed that overflow. I was recently battling grief and discouragement on a penetratingly hot day. Heavy and weak-kneed, I walked a neighborhood, to cool off in a lake. I paused to admire a cheerful garden of colorful Zinnias, singing in the drought. Standing in the big hard sun. Shining with tenacity, boldness and glory. A knowing.

I silently thanked Abba for his thoughtful and masterful creation and carried on home to bed, exhausted and speaking with no one.

But, Yahweh knows our hearts and thoughts, intimately. The next morning, I woke up to this little flame on the table, passed through a sister's sister in the Lord, who I have never met, from her own garden. Colors blazing with the fire of the Spirit of Might (one of the seven spirits of God).

I was, again, revived by his Love in the desert. Resurrected by the blood of the Risen Lamb. Can the real Christ Jesus please stand up.

Zinnias. One tough flower.
