Errant Beacon

The heart is

an errant beacon

of sweet deception

and natural rebellion

Left untethered and wild

romantic and in charge

it will enthrone the

pretty things of earth

creating a tangled overgrowth

across the written path

to the deep and

satisfying ocean

of the good plans

of my Father

and the sweeter relief of

trusting His tides

and of forgiveness
